#15: They Played Competitive Drinking Games
One popular game at symposia was called kottabos. Players flicked the last drops of wine from their cups at a target across the room, trying to knock it over. It required skill, aim, and just enough intoxication to make things interesting.

Prizes could range from applause to flirtation. The game was playful, but it reinforced social bonds and rivalries. Even leisure had structure. In ancient Greece, competition didn’t stop at the stadium — it followed you straight into the party.
