#37: Philosophy Thrived Alongside Slavery
Ancient Greece gave the world famous thinkers who debated justice, virtue, and the ideal society. At the same time, slavery was normalized and deeply embedded in daily life. These two realities existed side by side without obvious contradiction.

Intellectual brilliance didn’t automatically translate into universal equality. Many philosophers accepted slavery as part of the natural order. The contrast is striking. A culture that asked profound questions about freedom still relied heavily on unfree labor to function.
