#31: Built the Turn 2 Foundation to Help Youth Avoid Drugs and Alcohol
In 1996, the same year he won Rookie of the Year, Jeter launched the Turn 2 Foundation. The charity’s mission is to encourage young people to make healthy choices, avoid drugs and alcohol, and reach their full potential. It quickly became a major part of his off-field legacy.

Through scholarships, programs, and community events, the foundation has impacted thousands of kids in New York, Michigan, and beyond. For Jeter, it wasn’t just about giving back—it was about using his platform to guide the next generation toward discipline, responsibility, and opportunity, just as his parents taught him.
