#11: Larry Holmes
Holmes possessed quiet toughness, often underestimated because of his smooth boxing style. Yet he fought through deep adversity, taking punishing shots while staying composed. He had a granite chin and an unshakable mindset, continuing to fight with fierce determination even when badly hurt. Holmes blended skill and steel in equal measure.

In 1980, Holmes defended his title against the ferocious Earnie Shavers. After suffering a devastating knockdown in the seventh round, Holmes rose and fought back with fiery determination, stopping Shavers in the 11th. That comeback in the face of danger cemented Holmes as a champion with iron toughness and heart.
