#22: Larry Bivins
Bivins was never the flashiest fighter, but he was pure grit. Known for enduring savage exchanges, he stayed composed under fire and refused to wilt when hurt. Even against more talented foes, he kept pressing forward, absorbing punishment to create openings. Bivins’ dogged toughness earned him deep respect from his peers.

In the 1940s, Bivins faced Ezzard Charles, one of the era’s finest boxers. Though outmatched technically, Bivins absorbed tremendous punishment and kept pushing forward for all ten rounds. He lost on points but proved unbreakable, earning admiration for his refusal to quit against a future heavyweight champion.
