#20: The Conclusion of the Viking Era
Starting around 800 AD, the Viking Age concluded in 1066 with the unsuccessful final invasion of the Vikings. Haraldr, the Norwegian king, met his end at the Battle of Stamford Bridge, aiming to capture part of England.

Post-1066, Viking raids ceased, becoming unprofitable and unwelcome. Their cultures evolved, giving rise to the modern communities of Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
